So it turns out that our engine is not cracked, and somehow our antifreeze doesn't leak anymore either! Kurtis read the manual today (thankfully) and found that we can't put gas with octane any lower than 87 in it. After Dr. Speer checked the "symptoms" according to the manual (lol), the wrong gas can make the car stall and mess with it pretty badly. So it's been filled with the proper gas and everything checks out thus far. WOO! We'll have to pay a little more for gas now, but that's way better than having to buy a new engine, or even a new car! Thank goodness for men that do read manuals at some point. This also means we get to keep our TV! YESS!! I've witnessed yet another miracle--and learned a lesson or two about money management in the meantime. :)
Oh and one more thing, these past few weeks we've been waiting and anticipating a solution to our financial problems with BYU. Somehow Kurtis' spring pell grant got taken back (after it had paid for his tuition) so we owed them money for that, and then they didn't disperse enough money for me with the number of credits I have (<6 credits = $550, 6< = $1,050). So altogether we owed BYU 3,000 some odd dollars and we were, needless to say, a bit worried about money this past week (not to mention this was about the same day we thought the car was done for). Though it's incredible how everything worked out in less than a week! We are so very grateful to our Heavenly Father who watches over us and lovingly teaches us in small and simple ways when we have such great lessons to learn.
